About Me: I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in science from Georgia State University in May 2010 (Panthers rule). I graduated with my Masters Degree from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Instructional Technology. During my college years, I interned in every grade level except for third and fifth grade . I completed my student teaching in kindergarten at L.O.Kimberly Elementary School and had the privilege to work Mrs.Irvin . I began teaching First Grade at Kimberly Elementary School in August 2011 and I love it before that I was a kindergarten teacher! Teaching is more then a job for me. It is a chance to help all children learn and be victorious. My goal each day in the classroom is to help all children be successful. One of my professors in college always told our class “If children cannot learn the way we teach, then we must teach the way that children learn.” That is my core value.
On a personal note, I live in Atlanta with my daughters Kenadie and Kelsie. ( I will talk about them a lot especially in writing.) Swimming during the summer is one of my favorite things to do since I started swimming at an early age and I love the water. However , when the weather is rainy , I’m happy. I love looking and listening to the rain because I can read a good book or write in my journal. Also during this time, I love watching a movie my girls or playing a game with them. I also love spending time with family, eating good food, traveling, visiting the zoo, hanging with friends , playing at the park , and playing kickball when I can.
